Morning all
This is a very excited post ;D
I am off to MSC on Friday for a Foundation Course. It will be my first visit to MSC and I'm really looking forward to it. It'll also give me a chance to chat to Avril (I'm sure she's sick of my emails by now!) about finding that right partner for me.
I was too slow off the mark with Blue as he has found his long term home, so it's back to the drawing board for me. I have livery arranged, and I'm all ready to go. I just need to find my perfect partner now for long hacks in the countryside.

I'm sure you will have a wonderful time, Julia, and will find the course very beneficial. I hope Avril has, or will find, the right equine partner for you.

Hi Julia, you are going to have a wonderful day. Avril's courses are literally life changing, and MSC is the most peaceful place to be. I am sure Avril will be able to guide you towards your perfect partner - it sometimes takes a while, but is well worth the wait.
Have a wonderful day, and please let us know how you get on.
Best wishes, Sarah. xx

What a lovely day! Such a warm welcome and such a calm yard.
Despite my intentions of working with Reggie I knew one of the other ladies really wanted to work with him so I opted for big Paddy instead, and that was the right decision. It was nice to watch Reggie objectively and it was clear to see that Avril has done such a great job with him nothing was an issue.
Paddy had something about him - you could tell he really wanted to please and do the right thing, he just wasn't sure of the question and the boundaries. It was lovely to see and feel his increase in trust in me as a leader grow as the day went on and I felt, by the end, we had truly progressed - from a horse that wanted to stand in my space first thing, to following across tarpaulin, backing up, moving his feet - all loose - by the end of the day. Wow!
For anyone that hasn't been on a foundation course I wholly recommend it - although I'm sure I'm preaching to the converted on here!

Thanks Angela. Paddy is such a good looking boy he managed to detract from the awful face pulling I did - me and cameras just don't get on!
I am on the waiting list, Sarah, and just waiting for my partner. In the meantime the course has give me so much to think about and I'm itching to start on some groundwork sessions with Manny once he is back from his full loan home at the end of the month. Whilst he is an angel to handle, he can be spooky at blowing things and tarpaulin, so I'm going to practice my new skills on him to work on that.
It is such a shame (for me, not for his owner!) that big Paddy is in for training rather than being for sale as we really did form a bond.
