Hi, Saraah. Nice to hear from you Been to hospital to have cardioversion (electric shock to restore sinus rythym) and feel the better for it. Are you all well? Monkey's Mum, Debbie, rand me up yesterday and we've arranged to meet up up for coffee Tuesday week and then go up to the yard to see horses. She and George have just bought another TB which they hope to race next season. It will e nice to see them all, horses and humans, that is! I'll take some pics, if I remember! I get so wrapped up in the moment I tend to forget to use my camera! Are you out and about this year? I'm dressage writing at Pontispool at the end of April but will miss Badminton completely as I will be in Poland! Liz x

Lovely to hear from you Liz - Poland?! What are you doing in Poland? You can't be going for the weather, I always imagine their climate in spring must be pretty much like what we have here now (and that's not a recommendation)!
Very pleased to hear the cardioversion was successful. My father has had it and, for him too, it helped him feel a lot better.

Hi, Helen. Long time no see (hear or whatever!) I'm going to Poland principally to visit Auswitzch and staying near a small town near Krakov in the Tatras mountains. I read a book a long time ago by Lord Liverpool called "The scourge of the Swastika" which described the dreadful things that occurred at Belsen, Auswitzch and other places just as hellish. Also my father had a friend who was a steward at the Nuremburg war crimes trials after WW2 and I've never forgotten learning how many people were affected by these awful deeds. I also learned last year that my headmaster at the grammar school I attended was the guy who opened Belsen. An article in the Telegraph ( www.telegraph.co.uk/news/features/7966440/The-man-who-first-saw-Belsen.html ) was sent to me and it was amazing to learn what a quiet hero the man was. I visited Belsen in 1972 when I worked in Germany but had no idea I knew the person who discovered the place. The climate is what you might expect for a mountainous region in Poland - cold! But their spring and summers are often hot. Do you think we just might have a lovely hot summer? I hope so as I'm p*ssed off with walking ther doggies through miles of mire - it's like walking through treacle and is very hard work! Just now I'm quite pleased not to have a horse! May be see you later in the year? Who knows!
