Thanks Liz, and Happy Christmas to you too. ;D
I must admit, I would prefer snow right now to all this dreaded rain, fields are so sodden, fords are impassable, the horses are so fed up of the rain ...
Roll on New Year, with hopefully some better weather and happy things to look forward to.
Best wishes, Sarah. xx

Yes, all the dog walking fields are so wet it is impossible to enjoy the walks and at the moment they are under water, being alongside the River Tone.

Hi everyone Not sure how George would take to towing the kids along behind. Is this in your training plan Avril? At last a few days of dry weather and everybody is happier. The fields have survived really well this year, by accident. I never got around to topping them last summer due to the wet weather and as a result the long scraggy grass has stood up to the deluge much better than a well trimmed field. The horses seem absolutely fine foraging among the dead thistles, nettles and other scraggy bits and are doing extremely well on it. George had his final clip of the season and is looking really well on it. My friends autistic daughter did some of it whilst George fell asleep. He is so good at being clipped. Finally it is getting lighter and planning for a new season of activity. Maybe I will get to do a Le Trec this season. Happy New Year everyone, hopefully the worst of the winter is over.
Best wishes, Erika & George

Well, we did buy a sledge with the idea of hooking it up to the back of the saddle but haven't got around to trying it out yet. Glad your fields are in good heart this winter, most of us are less fortunate with mud deeper than ever. George would be great at Le Trec, keep us posted!

George might be fine, but he doesn't need to read the map! Erika
