I took my friend's little girl to see Monty Roberts on Wednesday at Okehampton - it was a good evening. The little girl has had a bad time as her Mummy was taken to hospital last weekend and had to have emergency surgery for a twisted gut Sh'e now at home but in bed which has been set up in a downstairs room and will not be able to see her own horses for many weeks. She had just got her point to pointer fit for hunting to qualify for next seasons races - her OH is a capable ridewr but is in the Royal Marines so is away a lot. Any way, her little girl had a great time and Kelly and Monty had a few kind words for her. She stayed with me overnight as it was a late night (Okehampton is over an hour away from me) and didn't want to disturb her Mum. Got up early, had breakfast then deleivered her safely home.
From there I had to travel 30 miles inthe opposite direction to a friend who asked me to go with her to pick up a foal from near Weymouth. My former horse, Ryan, who now belongs to my friend is on loan to someone at the stud so it was a wonderful chance to see him too. The stud is a lovely place and they breed some very special warmbloods and I managed to get nipped by a colt foal out in the fields! Very cheeky. I have a good bruise on my arm!
Anyway, we were collecting a little, tiny mini filly foal - and I mean TINY ;D
Here is Tiffany after we got her back, saying "Hello" to her half brother, Fudge and also Toffee who are both yearlings. Her Daddy is a wee grey stalion called Richie Sambora - I nearly died laughing when I heard his name (guitarist with BonJovi for those who don't know!)
saying "hi" to her new family
with Uncle Bally who regards them all as his babies and protects from the other horses!
What timewastersd! They were so captivating to watch. Eventually they will be broken to harness.
