I am the very proud and lucky new owner of Custard. ;D Some of you know that I have had some heart ache over the last few years, loosing my young Harvey, then my old Puzzle and just a few weeks ago Lucky. I have been on the MSC waiting list for quite some time now, and a week ago I made the trip up to see Avril and meet Custard and it was love at first sight for me. I rode out on him and felt I had been riding him for years, he was so comfortable and I felt so safe on him. I would have squished him into the back of my car given half a chance! ;D Custard passed his vetting on Monday and arrived on Wednesday. He had a day to recover and then yesterday I took him out for his first hack, in the company of Meg riding Simon's steady horse Flame. Custard was an absolute superstar, taking in his new surroundings and coping with the loose wild ponies brilliantly. We had another wonderful hack again today - I just haven't stopped grinning. I just adore Custard already, he is the pony I have been waiting so long for, and I feel so very blessed to have him in my life. Thank you Avril for making my dream come true. Best wishes from a very happy Sarah. xx

That's fantastic news Sarah! Custard looked lovely and if I was a small adult (which I am anything but) I would have had my eye on him myself.
Here's to many a relaxed and calm hack. Enjoy!

Thank you Jane and Liz - I really do feel so lucky to have Custard in my life. Meg has been riding Simon's horse Flame, since her beautiful eventer Splodge went to his new home, but after riding Custard at the weekend, I think she might be asking to ride him a bit more. I think Custard and little Eddie are going to be good friends - too cheeky little pint sized ponies together .... just what Eddie needs after loosing Lucky. Cant wait to ride again tomorrow - food shopping and housework are definitely taking a back seat! Best wishes, Sarah. xx

My eldest daughter was home for the weekend, so I cycled while she rode Flame and Meg rode Custard. We had an incident, which really tested Custard - riding down a narrow gravel track, we had to pass through a small herd of ponies, which was ok, until a few minutes later, one of the wild ponies left the group and galloped back down the track after us, and shot past a very bemused Custard and a chilled out Flame. It shot off down the track and disappeared at full tilt round the corner shouting to another group of ponies up ahead. Thank goodness Custard is such a sensible pony and used all his MSC skills to cope with a very unusual moment. I am SO proud of him. ;D He is just the best. ;D xx

What a fantastic pony and so well trained. The Forest certainly does throw up really challenging conditions. I'm so glad that you have this good fortune after your recent sad times Have fun Angela xx
