Hi all I am Val, Jasmines new owner and thought I would introduce myself. :)I have had her for about 6 weeks now and she is lovely, I also own another mare who looks similar to Jasmine, she is a lighter bay and probably an inch taller. They get on really well although Jasmine is boss but Molly would never be boss of anything so she is happy to let Jasmine take the alpha position. She is a totally different mare to ride than Molly, Molly is not a particularly forward going mare and Jasmine is, Molly does spook at things on occasions and will sometimes spin round to head home if something really frightens her, but she has been considerably better lately. I bought Jasmine because Molly has developed C.O.P.D and in the spring and summer months does cough a lot and her breathing is laboured but did not want to give up riding although I am a grandmother. I keep them both at home so can see them in field whenever I look at of my kitchen window. Jasmine is very forward going which is lovely , am working on her canter at them moment which is a bit rushed, but getting there, buying her has been a delight as she is such a lovely girl and she has settled in so well as though she has been here all her life.

Hi Val, nice to hear from you, welcome.
Jasmine looked a lovely girl and i am so glad you are getting on with her. Thats the beauty of Avril's cobs, you can't quite believe your luck! It must be lovely to be able to look out of your kitchen window and watch your girls.
Poor Molly, its a good job shes got a caring mum to look after her. I have seen quite a bit of COPD and, fortunately you do seem to be able to control it.
Sending very best wishes to you, Molly and Jasmine, please keep us up-dated if you have the time Val,
Jane and Elda xx

Welcome to the forum Val. It was lovely to hear about Jasmin. I saw her during the horsey walk at the party and thought she looked lovely. It would be great to hear more about your gals if you have the time. I recall seeing the photo of them both. They look so similar. Happy horsey times Angela

Hi Val, welcome to the forum. Jasmine is lovely. She was at Avril's whilst Cassie was there. I'm glad she has settled in and you are doing well.

Hi Val
Great that you've joined the forum - I only joined recently too. Glad to hear that Jasmine has settled - My horse Coco, from Avril, took quite a while to settle and made calling out her speciality - but she still felt safe to ride and that's why we all went to Avril. How fantastic to see your horse from your window - you must really get to know all their little ways. Enjoy them both. Gilly

Welcome to the forum Val and Gillybou, owners of two of my favourite girls who will always have a special place in my heart. I think it must be quite an enlarged organ now as it's getting quite crowded!

Thankyou all for your nice words. Things are running along nicely here they are both so easy and uncomplicated. My only problem is the billions of acorns that I am wrestling with at the moment and each day Molly races over to them so I have had to fence off so many areas until I can pick them all up it is a nightmare. Lucky Jasmine doesn't seem bothered by them. I was very lucky not to have had to buy any new tack for her as mollys dressage saddle and her gp one fit her perfectly also the bridles and rugs that's the beauty of having two same size horses, great! Love to chat more but it's getting late and am seeing double will catch up soon.

have had Jasmine for 4 months now and she has been so settled here its as it she has lived here all her life, she is totally bos of Molly but thats not hard a mouse would boss her about, but still they know their places in life| She does still shoot off in canter and I have been taking it really slow with her as want her to take life calmly and slowly, now the winter looks like it is here and strong winds coming Tuesday I will just walk her out with occasional trot. She is so very good on the roads though which is great as my other mare can be a bit spooky, bless her she has not been ridden much lately and must wonder why. I did spoil myself and my horses by purchasing a haygain, which steams the hay and takes out all the dust spores and since Molly has been on it I have not heard her cough once which is great.so all you horse owners out there if you have a coughing horse or one with C.O.P.D then it is worth every penny.

Hi Val and welcome to the forum. It is great that you are enjoying your new girl. Sorry to hear that Molly has COPD it can be a very distressing condition and difficult to manage. I am really lucky in that we have enough grass for the winter that we don't need hay unless it is really frosty. Keep us posted on your wonderful journey. erika & George
