While we believe every horse is potentially suited to NH training, some catch the eye more than others.
We stopped by a colleague's farm yesterday to collect a box of tomatoes freshly picked specially for us. Horses were not in our thoughts at that time, until we saw this little blue and white chunky cob mare looking at us with that "Take me now" look I find so hard to resist.
When I learnt she is only 4 yrs old and in foal, I dismissed her, but only for a moment, and before I could argue with myself about commercial decisions, we loaded her onto the trailer.
She is one of the nicest little ladies we could wish for, with an old head on her young shoulders. I'm looking forward to bringing her on with our normal training programme until she's too big to continue. I feel she is meant to join us, and it will be interesting to see what the foal is like.

I look forward to reading about her progress and seeing some pics - soon! She's a lucky young mare!

Here's Izzie, the pony cob mare who came home with us with a bag of tomatoes! She's so lovely, I don't regret my hasty decision even though she is in foal. I can see her being this wonderful little mare who looks after children and their mums. Attachments:

I didn't realise there's only one pic per post, so here's a head shot too of sweet little Izzy. Attachments:

She is beautiful, I am not surprised you had to bring her home with the tomatoes.

She is gorgeous Avril, jolly expensive tomatoes though! I hope you realise that her foal is going to have to be called Pimento, plum, cherry or something similar. Erika & George

Izzie has a new home with a foster mummie called Caroline. She will be looking after her until she foals, and keeping her until the foal is old enough to be weaned.
We still have no idea when that will be.

I'm very excited! Izzie has had her foal! It's the sweetest little coloured thing, possibly a filly, I'll know more later.
I'll post pics as soon as Caroline sends them. Mother and baby are doing very well, I only wish I could be there to see them.

Here's proud mum Izzie with her foal, only an hour or two old. It's going to be a bit rough on her to be born so late in the year, but I know her foster mummy will already have a plan to keep them both warm and dry. So, Caroline, when can we invade your home and drive the 200 miles of so to come and visit? Attachments:

Oh, my! She looks a nice, strong foal Congratulations to Mummy Izzie and all connections! I've been very ill with pneumonia and that has really cheered me up

What a beautiful foal, and a proud Mum - so glad they are both ok. Sorry to hear you have been so poorly Liz - hope you will be on the mend soon.

Oh gosh.... another gorgeous coloured that I will no doubt fall in love with as we follow her progress. Mum and daughter are both stunning.
Sorry to hear you've been unwell Liz. What a horrible thing to have and so debilitating. Are you fully recovered now?
