Hello. Yes, it would be good to know if Forum members are going on courses. I'm on 21st April Foundation Course and would love to meet some forum members. Otherwise, I might meet some at the party. Have I missed the date Avril and is the invite open to all MSC friends? Gilly

I would love to attend one of Avril's courses but am waiting until I have a pony of my own, so that can practise what I have learned before I forget it all! In the meantime, I am accumulating as much vicarious knowledge as I can and, to that end, I have been following for some years now three websites which I feel are the best in their different ways of encouraging the best possible relationship with horses. One is, of course(!), Avril's, which I have been following, I seem to recall, since just before Avril started MSC. The other two are Nic Barker's rockleyfarm website and Cynthia Cooper's Tasmanian website naturalhorseworld.com, from whom I bought my bitless bridle and noseband. I think it is fantastic that Avril is including liberty training in her new list of courses because not only does it promote a relationship built entirely on trust between horse and human but there seems to be no limit to the possibilities if you have the time and dedication. Because Avril is running it, I know that a great deal of thought and careful structure will have been put in place and I envy those of you who will be attending! Today, I received the email blog from Cynthia, which features a link to this video interview with Michelle Dennis (who lives alone in the Australian Outback in Queensland and clearly has masses of time to spend on it!) shows what she has done with 15 assorted, mainly rescued, horses, ponies and donkeys by working with them at liberty and how she has solved the problem of giving treat rewards in a herd situation. Of course, she is an exception but it shows that we have hardly begun to scrape the surface of what horses will do for us voluntarily, without restraint or contraint:- naturalhorseworld.com/blog/The fact that she says that, if she gets a snake bite or has an accident out in the 40 acre paddock, she needs horses who can take her back to the shed says it all! Hi Everyone, sorry for the delay but we now have a date for your diary. The Summer Party is going ahead on July 21st after the Connect with your Horse Course. It is indeed open to friends, old and new, at MSC. We really hope you are able to join us and can't wait to see you all again (and meet some new faces too!)
Helen, lovely lady that she is, has yet again volunteered to be party co-ordinator. She will no doubt be posting a thread shortly with further info.
Wishing you all a wonderful spring with plenty of horsey activity in the meantime. Looking forward to working with you on the Foundation Course in April Gillybou.

Hi Avril,
Great news that we have a Summer Party date. It is really exciting, as Mark and myself are booked on the Connect with your Horse Course on that date, so it will be a double treat. Can't wait !! Thank you and all at MSC for giving up your time to host the party.
Helen, thank you very much too for being party co-ordinator, i am sure there is such a lot of work involved, it is so nice of you.
Best wishes Jane and Elda xx

Oh Angela that is a shame about the party but I am hoping very much that I will see you at the June Instinctive Horsemanship course. I've verbally booked on but need to send my form off to Julia to confirm the place and, as has become usual, I have been hopelessly distracted by everything - including moving house (again) and having my parents to stay at our new place which meant we had to get it sorted enough to put a bed in the spare room... Oh and a new laptop that wouldn't connect to our printer (old printer, new laptop, apparently there is software incompatibility ), but the old printer wouldn't print the form... Oh dear!

Thats fabulous news Helen !!! Karen is on the course as well and we are staying in Stelling Minnis at Greatfield farm with a view to tea at the Rose and Crown but would be flexible .Are you able to stay over? Would you be able to join us ? That would be so so lovely. It would be fab if all of us from the course could get together afterwards, so to anyone who may be on the course please do join us if you would like to. Angela ;D

Having seen the fab pics of the Good Friday Foundation Course that have been posted on the MSC Facebook page, I can't wait to attend the Foundation Course on the 1st June. I have been lucky enough to own my own horses for many years now but I am sure there will be SO much more to learn on this course. I would love to go on the other courses too in the future but I'll have to save up for them and treat myself. My boyfriend is a prime candidate for (what was) the Husband's Course as he is keen to improve his relationship with Beau (from a non-rider point of view). Keep up the good work Avril - we love it!! Love Faye x

I'm sure you will really enjoy it, Faye. I've done the Foundation Course, twice and it was brill - it won't be like any horse course you have ever done before, you get to see things in a whole new light....

Really looking forward to the Instinctive Horsemanship course next weekend and seeing Avril and all at MSC again, and Helen and Angela, who is staying with me on Friday and Sunday and meeting Crispin for the first time! Going to de-fuzz him a bit so he looks his best for her! x
