Hi Gilly If the format is the same as previous years what happens is that those who are camping turn up around 3-4 ish to set up tents and there is usually lots of hugs all round! then around 4.30 - 5 ish Avril does a wonderful horse walk where she fills us in about the recruits and where they are in their training... remember we are walking amongst the horses so no flip flops ...we can also pick her brains about all sorts of horsey stuff I just hope the closer i stand to Avril maybe I can some how extract some of her brilliance and become a better horsemaster! ;D then the bbq gets going and we all sort of congregate into the garden or marquee depending on the weather! see you there x x x x

Best wishes to you all for a really wonderful get-together! Perhaps someone could give Avril's horses a stroke or a scratch from me, especially the very sweet and forgiving Bryn!

Can I say a HUGE thank you to Avril and all her family, for making us feel so welcome at the BBQ, and also to em for organising it. We had such a wonderful evening, meeting all the current horses, catching up with good friends round the campfire, yummy food, not too much wine ( this time! ) and some hysterics watching some brave souls trying their balance skills with Zarah's help. We even survived a night in our tent, despite some interesting weather. A truly lovely evening, thank you. Best wishes from Sarah, Simon and Meg. xxx

I second Sarah's thanks. I had such a good time and it was lovely to catch up and yatter about horses again! I have an appointment now to see the bone man on 1st October so I hope that if I can manage next years BBQ I will be mobile! Thank you so much for the ride on the atv Not done that fro a while! I stopped off for lunch at Salisbury on my way home with my aunt and uncle and they gave me a delicious stroganof and an apple curd tart, all home made! Not bad cooking for someone who's approaching 90 I eventually got home around 8.00p.m. A very satisfactory weekend!
